Firewall's and Internet Security
If you use ZoneAlarm, please go into its Privacy settings and tick Private
Header green to allow the site's security features.
Users of Norton Internet Security will find that it loads a new program bar
into your Web Browser. Once you have the BNSkin.com login page loaded, click
the Norton Internet Security button in your Web Browser and ensure there is
no tick next to 'Block popups on this site'. If there is, simply click it to
remove it and you should be able to log in OK to the site.
BNSkin.com uses security features for membership access and to ensure that
other sites do not link directly to our album pages thus ripping us all off.
Some firewall software will prevent you from seeing BNSkin.com content if not
set up correctly. The firewall documentation or help pages should assist you
in configuring your firewall. Making bnskin.com a trusted site usually
works but ensure that there is no www. before bnskin.com as this will not work!
If you have Norton Internet Security 2003 and have installed it as a package
the problem can be resolved by going in to the Privacy Control settings in the
application. This problem doesn't arise if you install the Firewall and Antivirus
separately. More information on how to set this up correctly is given below.
You can test if this is a problem by turning off your firewall and quickly
testing if this helps. Don't forget to turn your firewall back on straight afterwards!
- From the Norton Internet Security main menu, select the privacy control
option.
- Ensure the checkbox for “Turn on Privacy Control”
is ticked and select the custom level option.
- Set the drop down menu for “Private Information” to
“Medium: Prompt me each time.
- Set the drop down menu for “Cookie Blocking” to “None:
Allow Cookies”
- Uncheck the “Enable Browser Privacy” Checkbox
- Tick the “Enable Secure Connections (HTTPS)” Check box.
